Two Short Poems

And everything is water
and everything is air
and there is a blue flame
at the base of his spine
which she draws with her finger
up one vertebre at a time.

Doesn't know she is ready
to be vulnerable
so she plans to write a song
so that shielded by quotes
she can open her heart.
Annie will help her
peel away the quotes
line by line.
